The Commercial Club of Chicago is a membership organization of business and civic leaders in the Chicago metropolitan area. Prospective candidates are nominated by an existing Commercial Club member and evaluated according to their position in their business or profession and service in the public interest.

Members of The Commercial Club of Chicago elect a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer for two-year terms. Members also appoint a President who is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and operations of The Commercial Club.

The Commercial Club of Chicago operates through its committee structure. The Executive Committee exercises general control over The Commercial Club's affairs. The Commercial Club also has a Program Committee and a Membership Committee.

The Civic Committee of The Commercial Club of Chicago is comprised of senior executives of the Chicago region's leading businesses, professional firms, and universities. The mission of the Civic Committee is to improve the economic and social well being of the Chicago region. The Commercial Club and its Civic Committee have also created and supported the following affiliated organizations to develop and conduct specific initiatives to improve the City of Chicago and surrounding region: Civic Consulting Alliance (CCA), Renaissance Schools Fund (RSF), and Chicago Metropolis 2020.
